I have never been excited about trying out a new lawn mower before, but after using the GTech Falcon cordless, I am very impressed!
Opening the box in anticipation!
The Falcon was delivered to me last week and I took advantage of a few hours of dry weather to try it out for the first time. Weighing 16.95 kg (or 37.3 lbs), it is not light, but is certainly nowhere near as heavy as my corded model. The battery needs to be charged for five hours so this was the first job!
Charging the battery
The lawnmower was easy to assemble and there is an instruction booklet explaining the process. On the GTech website there is also a video of the inventor Nick Grey using the Falcon.
As Nick states 'A mower that is powerful, compact, easy to use… and cordless. Gardens are for enjoying, so why does your lawnmower make it such a chore? Once you’ve tried the new Gtech Falcon you will wonder why you ever put up with power cords or petrol motors'
With the battery fully charged and the sun making a rare appearance as of late, I was ready to try the lawnmower out for myself.
The Falcon waiting to have its first outing!
My neighbour's dog decided to inspect!
It's a thumbs up from me!
So off we go, how easy is this to use! It glides across the lawn and turning is light and effortless.
This mower gets right to the edges
Edging is far better than a convential mower due to the 430mm (16.9 inches) cutting width. No cables to keep sweeping up as you mow either which can be a real nuisance.
It's a thumbs up from Chris too!
My neighbour was impressed too when she tried the Falcon out. There are different cutting heights which are very simple to adjust. No screwdrivers needed!
The finished lawn looking good to me!
One lawn cut and one very satisfied owner! The time taken to mow was far quicker than my current model and much easier to use.
Effortlessly emptying the grass cuttings
The grass box is very light and easy to remove to empty the grass. I would also like to point out that the handle on the mower is very light and does not cut into ones hands like some lawnmowers do.
Activation pin REMOVED
Activation pin IN PLACE
There is a nifty safety feature that is used when turning the mower over to clean the wheels and other parts or carrying it out of, or back to the shed or garage. With the activation key pulled out by simply pinching the top parts together, this ensures the motor cannot be started. An excellent idea!
So what do I think?
I would have no hesitation in recommending this lawnmower. It has so many good features. The ease of use, 40 minutes running time, the large grass box, the weight, the compactness of storage and best of all, no cables! Priced at £399.99 with a 2 year manufacturers warranty and a 30 day money back guarantee, you won't be disappointed! There is also free delivery included. Order directly from the website.
Be aware everyone that the spares including batteries only have a six month warranty on them which I think is rather mean as one only mows the lawn for around six months of the year. Surely they should have a better warranty? Most products have twelve.
