Gammon Broth with Leek Dumplings
My homemade Gammon broth
INGREDIENTS
- Potatoes
- Onions
- Leeks
- Carrots
- Bag cereal and pulses
- Two Knorr stock cubes
- Box suet dumplings mix
- Leeks
- Mixed dry herbs
- And chopped gammon
METHOD
- The cereal and pulses I steep the day before in hot water
- Add to a pan of boiling water add cereal and pulses and gammon
- Bring to the boil
- Then add in all the vegetables potatoes carrots leeks
- Add in two chicken knorr stock cubes and turn down the heat to simmer for about half an hour
- Keep stirring then check the vegetables making sure they are cooked
- I mix up a box of dumping mix with chopped leeks and some mixed herbs in water
- Then roll them up small as they expand in the soup
- Add them to the top of the soup simmering and cook for about half an hour turning them over half way through
- And there you have it gammon broth with leek dumplings
