The third book from this author and Wren Jane Beacon falls deeply in love and hopefully becomes a naval wife. WW2 is still very much going on and Jane is still very much part of it in her job. Another very enjoyable story by this author, that all war saga readers will enjoy. It is best to read the other two first to see Jane’s amazing journey. I loved the way I am pulled into the characters as I keep on reading. It was an amazing read and I loved it!
I have found this book a breath of fresh air as it involves a group of girls determined to prove that they as women can do the same as men to a limit. Jane has fought for herself and Wrens in general to get what they deserve and she has a new job to face. Along with her crew they ride the Thames helping to keep the country going and along the way they are sent on a hush hush mission. During this mission men are being attacked and thrown in the water Jane and her crew come to the rescue, they have uncovered a spy ring but their lives are in danger. I have loved reading this book as it has given me a new interest in what the Wrens did during the war and the hurdles they faced. I feel this book is well worth 5*and would recommend it as a very enjoyable book with a feel good factor.
Thank you DJ Lindsay.
This was a great book definitely showing how the woman of war worked so hard. After Jane's work at Dunkirk she then went on to more work as a Wren and reading about her work on the Thames. What a great lady! She and her crew give their all sometimes in the hardest circumstances. This is a must read and a definite 5 stars .
This is the third book in the series and once again the author has written a riveting account of the life of Wren Jane Beacon in the Royal Navy. Jane is put in charge of a Royal Naval Auxiliary Patrol during the Blitz with an all Wren crew. They overcome many challenges including gun fire and earn the respect of male counterparts of higher ranks. What happens next is that Jane and her fellow crew members take on a very dangerous mission including espionage as they hunt for the spies who are responsible. Injuries and kidnapping take place and the reader is driven along by how brave the women were in WW2. We must not forget the romantic aspect that plays a big part in Jane's life too. After falling in love with a naval officer she rescued at Dunkirk, will they end up happily ever after? You will have to read the book to find out!
