Vax is one of the most well known brands of vacuums in the UK and overseas.
The company was founded by entrepreneur Alan Brazier in 1977. 40 years on it continues to go from strength to strength. You can read about the Vax journey to date here.
I remember owning a Vax Tub back in the 80's which served me well for a number of years. This model in 1987 was the UK's best selling vacuum. See here. In 2008, Vax became Britain's leading floor care provider.
In 2017 the cordless range of vacuums were launched. I have been sent the Vax Blade 32V to evaluate and would like to share my findings with you.
The vacuum came well packaged and after removing the individual parts, was easily assembled. Weighing in at 3kg, this model is not heavy and lighter than some other makes of cordless vacuums.
Accessories include a two in one dusting brush, a crevice tool, charger, a wall mount and user guide which is very well documented.
Parts ready to assemble
After charging the lithium-ion battery for four hours, I was ready to try out the vacuum.
Ready to start trying the Vax Blade Cordless 32V for the first time
Once charged, the battery has a 45 minute run time which is plenty for a three bedroom semi detached house. The ease of use was impressive on carpets and hard floors.Vax DIRECT HELIX TECHNOLOGY™ ensures a smooth effortless vacuum. If you apply the boost switch, the run time will be reduced.

Battery level indicator
There are two battery level indicators. One on the front of the hand held part and one on the back. The boost mode will instantly increase power at the touch of a button.
No problem reaching high spots!
The crevice tool easily reaches dusty corners and the hand held part of the vacuum is easy to operate and not too heavy

Stairs are easy to keep clean
Attaching the dusting brush makes light work of the stairs. The crevice tool can be attached instead for awkward corners.
The brush attachment makes light work of lampshades
The handheld is also perfect for stairs, pet hair removal, cars and upholstery cleaning. Nothing is too much trouble for the Blade 32V!
Emptying is straightforward
The dust collected is simply collected in the handheld and deposited in the bin. With a removable washable filter, this ensures the vacuum is always able to have optimum performance.
The vacuum itself does not stand upright on its own due to the handheld attachment making it top heavy. I would advise mounting it on the wall with the mount tool included, or lying down on the floor after hoovering.
There is also a video on the VAX website which shows how easily the Vax Blade is assembled and the various cleaning facilities.
A two year guarantee comes as standard as does FREE DELIVERY.
The retail price of the Blade 32V is on the Vax website and includes a free tool kit at the moment! Priced at £179.96 it can be ordered online or over the telephone. 0800 0116581
My overall opinion of this vacuum is that it is great value and ease of use makes it a practical purchase for all ages.
