How do you choose a shredder when the one you have had for 15 years finally decides to pack up in a splendid fashion by sparking and snapping?!

There are numerous ones to choose from online and in the various stores and warehouses. I saw an advert for Fellowes and was intrigued to know more.
On Wikipedia the following information is listed 'The company was founded in 1917 by Harry Fellowes as the Bankers Box Company, producing the Bankers Box line of record storage boxes. Fellowes owns and operates 15 subsidiaries worldwide in Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Russia, Australia, China, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and South Africa and employs more than 1,500 people throughout the world.'
I contacted Fellowes to see which product they would recommend for me. I have been sent the Powershred 63CBto evaluate and am ready to share my findings with you. The instruction leaflet that accompanies the shredder makes a powerful heading'Fellowes Powershred 63CB, The World's Toughest Shredders™'
These are pretty impressive words!
One of the most important things is safety and I am delighted that this shredder incorporates SafeSense ® Technology.(A) What this means is that the shredder stops working immediately if a hand touches the paper opening.
The paper entry (B) is clean and a good design. The shredder is capable of shredding up to 10 sheets of A4.
An excellent feature is the Pull-out Bin (C) which is new to me as I have always had to lift the heavy motor off the top of the bin with previous models. A great idea, especially if you have mobility problems. The window (D) can be seen clearly how much shredded paper is accumulating.
The on/off switch (E) is located at the back of the shredder. The Safety Instructions (F) and the Control Switches are all listed in the leaflet that accompanies the shredder.
The Verdict?
I am very impressed with this shredder and would certainly recommend it! With a 2 year machine warranty and a 5 year cutter warranty, a recommended retail price of £159.99 seems an excellent buy for a shredder of this quality.
