Those of you who belong to my website will know that I run it on my own and spend many hours sitting at my desk writing articles, newsletters, tweeting, Facebooking etc etc.
I bought a new computer chair nine months ago and was happy with it for a while. However, as time went on, I found myself slumping over the desk or leaning one way on the chair which was not at all good for my posture or my health.
The time had come to look around for a more suitable chair and after much searching, I found Posturite on line.
I like the heading 'Posturite Because Health Matters' It makes me want to look further! Not only does this company sell many different types of chairs, but also desks, monitor arms, posture supports, computer mice and even keyboards.
Infact most of what is required for the human body to be at its' best behind a desk!!' I was thrilled when my Positiv Plus medium back ergonomic office chair arrived ready to assemble.
The first thing I noticed was how HEAVY the chair components are! So sturdy and well made. The chair was packed neatly in three separate compartments.
Base
Seat and various option knobs
Back of chair with lumbar pump visible
The base with the castors, the seat with several function knobs and the back with the lumbar pump feature, plus an allen key and necessary screws were all removed from the packaging. As stated above, the parts are heavy, so I was pleased to have help with building the chair.
All ready!
There are seven standard features which are as follows:-
A seat height lever to raise of lower the seat height
A locking mechanism once the required height has been attained
A back angle lever to set back angle independently to seat pan
A body weight tension hand wheel,
A seat slide lever to slide seat forward or backward
A back height lever to slide the backrest to desired height,
An inflatable lumbar pump to increase air into the backrest.
There are also two optional features to add on if required at additional cost:-
Adjustable armrests £33
A neckrest £40
SO comfortable and support is wonderful!
On May 4th, an engineer from Posturite came to my house to show me the correct way to set up this chair. I think I have it correct, but it was interesting to see how I could improve on my settings to make it even more comfortable! This is a FREE service too! Do look at the fabulous website for many tips and in depth descriptions for so many products.
The verdict? Easily the best and most comfortable office chair I have EVER owned. The chair is priced at £636.00 excluding VAT and £763.20 including VAT, plus £5.00 delivery to anywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. I am sure it will last me a lifetime.
