Review Of A Visit To HSL Stores In Rotherham

It’s a huge decision, isn’t it, when it’s time to replace your old worn-out three-piece suite?

I mean, we spend hours cozied up in chairs or on sofas so it has to be right. After ours started disintegrating (mind you we’d had it for well over 20 years and had it re-covered once) we knew we’d have to take that plunge. Because of a complete renovation of our lounge, we decided not to have the traditional three-piece suite but to go for a sofa and an armchair.

According to the TV adverts, it should be easy-peasy, right?

Almost every holiday season, sofa retailers bombard us with special offers – surely no-one changes their seating arrangements that often? So, like I suspect most people do, we had a look at these sofa retailers online first. We were not impressed with the choice seemingly on offer. It was my husband who suggested we try HSL Chairs as both of us are getting older (and yes, we checked online first and were impressed with what we saw).

Our nearest store being Rotherham, about 15 miles from where we live in Derbyshire, we went there yesterday morning. We were greeted by the cheerful Jenny who tactfully left us alone initially to have a look around. The showroom is a light airy place with lots more to see than simply chairs and sofas.

Jenny later explained that there is much more to a chair/sofa than sitting comfortable. She talked us through every aspect of ergonomics, ie leg room (particularly for my husband who’s legs are longer than mine); back, hip, neck and arm support, not something we’d ever thought of when buying such items. She explained that all the assistants are trained to assess people by a physiotherapist.

Over a welcome cup of tea and chocolate biscuit, we chatted and went through the options, including a wider range of fabrics that we could see and feel. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her patience was rewarded by the purchase of a comfy sofa for my husband, a recliner/riser for me (not that I need the riser yet but one never knows) and a gorgeous little foot rest/storage box. The items certainly weren't cheap but hopefully worth every penny.

Be warned though, allow plenty of time to visit an HSL showroom. It won't be time wasted!

The Final Reckoning

The Final Reckoning is an atmospheric, twisty thriller set in the peaceful (or maybe not so peaceful) Herefordshire countryside.

Someone in the village knows who murdered Simon's father, and why.

Does the actual killer suspect Lindsay also knows the identity of the murderer, and is Lindsay now in great danger, too?
